my pressing board has had burn holes for the longest time and after much procrastination i’ve finally made them some upgraded covers!
that said the problem was not the holes per se, but that the boards came with an odd choice of fabric that burnt easily at higher temperatures. which means i couldn’t make full use of them if i didn’t want to make burn marks into both my iron and projects 😂
i thought i might as well add a layer of leftover green flannelette fabric to improve the heat and moisture retention. then i traced and cut some cotton jersey fabric with about 9cm extra around to sew a casing for the string and wrap the sides. for the string, i used the existing cord from the old cover and inserted it around the casing.
this was such a fun and quick project! taking photos and editing took longer than the actual sewing! 😂🌈
